He uri ahau ō Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Toa, me Ngāti Raukawa ki te tonga. My role spans across both science research and Māori business development. I have a PhD in Chemistry from Victoria University of Wellington, and my current research interests are in green chemical processes for seafood products, and the investigation of novel microfeeds for native fish larvae aquaculture. I am the Māori co-lead for our internally funded ‘Ngā Tai Hōhonu / Open Ocean Aquaculture’ direction, where I support the high level strategic direction of the research programmes and develop our strategies to build meaningful relationships with iwi entities, and create opportunities for Māori to develop in the science research system.
