Kia Ora! Did you know that a third of the world's food production is effectively wasted, and one of the main causes is postharvest losses throughout the supply chain? I'm a postharvest researcher passionate about "all that" in reducing food waste while keeping our food fresh, safe and delicious! Working together with other Plant & Food Research teams, we help our horticultural industries reduce postharvest losses, ensure they have tools to access international trade markets and provide fresh, safe and nutritious food to our consumers. I am also currently undertaking a PhD study with the University of Otago in understanding the role of vitamin C derivatives in apples.
