Roger Bourne

Director Strategy, Brand & Impacts

Roger has spent 25 years working with, and advocating for, New Zealand’s primary sector, with a particular focus on horticulture, food and innovation. Following an early career in agribusiness journalism, Roger has since pursued roles in public relations, corporate affairs, strategic marketing and customer engagement. In his role as Director - Strategy, Brand & Impacts, Roger leads Plant & Food Research's initiatives to both set and pursue its Strategy to have impact across four core domains - Healthy Foods, Sustainable Ecosystems, Smart Food Systems and Climate Resilience. Roger also leads a wider team which includes Brand and Marketing, Communications, Government Relations, Impact Evaluation and Sustainability.
