As a geographically isolated island, Aotearoa New Zealand is a country free from many pests and diseases that damage productive and natural ecosystems elsewhere in the world. Plant & Food Research is developing new techniques and knowledge around potential threats to our plants and how to deal with incursions in the future.

In this series we take a close look at specific diseases and pest species, as well as diving into research to help growers use fewer or even no chemicals on their crops.
